Cocobakes is a clean bakery founded by chef Coco Kislinger and based in Santa Monica. She specializes in gluten-free, grain-free, vegan, and refined sugar-free products. Everything she bakes caters to those seeking health and healing. Her clean marshmallows are so good that there is almost always a waitlist. Order online and pick-up at their storefront or order online and have it shipped anywhere in the USA.
CHULITA VENICE

This little spot in Venice not only has some of the freshest tacos, but they have the most amazing grain-free cassava flour tortillas made in-house (available upon request). I also recommend orderings the tortillas with guacamole as a starter which is a great alternative to corn chips.
If you like to stay plant-based, try their vegan cauliflower al pastor tacos. The sauce is insane. Just don't forget to ask about their oil - they don't always use the best.

LA’s love for Erewhon is no secret. Erewhon is truly a part of LA’s culture. Originally from San Diego, this healthy cafe is a gem of a restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with organic ingredients and great drinks. They make their own vegan gluten free bread for the avocado toast, which is one of my go-tos, and their wild salmon (pan seared without oil) is one of the best. Everything on the menu is nutritious and satisfying.

If you are looking for an ice cream alternative on a hot day in LA, Frozen Fruit Co. makes some of the most delicious ice cream desserts. The difference is that they use just a few clean ingredients like coconut milk, dates, or fruit. No additives, oils, or anything artificial. It’s the real deal.

Malibu Farm is an LA classic, located right on surfrider beach, serving organic food locally sourced from the owner’s ranch, One Gun Ranch. I also love stopping into their ‘Ranch at the Pier’ shop before or after lunch. They have the best mugs and other laid-back, luxury souvenirs like organic soaps by Bamford.

Tocaya is an easy option to either order in via postmates or casually eat out. My go-to order is the fajita del ray bowl with cauliflower rice (no cheese).

Ever wonder where all the Michelin restaurants source their amazing fish from? It's Santa Monica Seafood. This is the spot if you want to pick up really fresh wild fish to cook at home, but they have an oyster bar and small café indoors too.

My go-to bakery for anything sweet without refined sugars, grains, dairy, and guilt. They offer everything from cakes, cookies, to ice cream sandwiches.

SunLife is one of my favorite spots in LA. It’s just a happy place. There are locations throughout the city, and each one has a feel-good vibe, but the location in the Malibu Country Mart is extra special to me. Maybe it’s the beautiful crystal garden in the outdoor seating area or because it was the first one I discovered a few years ago.
